New Michigan Restaurant Serves Fresh Power Bowls and More
If fresh food is your thing, then you’re in luck, as Michigan just got a new restaurant that specializes in fresh, delicious power bowls and more. This New Jersey-based fast-casual restaurant uses the freshest, most high-quality ingredients to serve up aΓ§aΓ, pitaya and coconut bowls. The spot also offers smoothies, oatmeal bowls, vegan granola and fresh juices.
I’m talking about Playa Bowls. I’m a vegetarian, so I cannot wait to try this place. One look at their website shows a plethora of delicious fruit and granola bowl options, including the Electric Mermaid (pitaya blend topped with granola, kiwi, pineapple, mango, coconut flakes, honey), Nutella Bowl (pure acai topped with granola, banana, strawberry, coconut flakes, Nutella drizzle), green power bowl (kale blend with vanilla protein topped with granola, banana, almond butter) and Almond Joj (Granola, sliced almonds, banana, coconut flakes, raw cacao, honey). All of those options sound tasty, but I definitely have to try the Electric Mermaid for my first trip, simply because the name is so cool.
The first Michigan Playa Bowls is now open on Grand River Avenue in downtown East Lansing. The store had a special VIP event last Friday (June 17), and now, they’re open for business. The restaurant is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.
The chain was actually founded by surfers. Currently, they have more than 140 stores nationwide, according to the company’s website. “Playa Bowls is your slice of summer, anytime,” they state on their website. “Using the freshest, highest quality ingredients, we serve healthy, delicious aΓ§aΓ, pitaya, coconut bowls and smoothies with sustainability and community in mind. Born on the beach and built for the globe, weβre your morning booster and your lunch break dream; your post-surf fix and perfect nightcap. We can’t wait to see you again!” For the full menu and more information, visit their official website.
