It's always great news when a popular Michigan restaurant expands. While the chains can be nice, there's really nothing like going to a locally-owned restaurant and enjoying the local culture and personalities. In that spirit, I'm happy to report that a beloved Michigan restaurant and cafe is expanding and opening more locations.

The new location actually marks this restaurant's third spot in the state. Will more follow? I hope so, because it's a delightful cafe.

Beloved Michigan Restaurant Opening More Locations

Hudson Cafe, a beloved downtown Detroit cafe, just opened a new Oakland County location. It's at 700 W. Big Beaver Road in Troy. Hudson Cafe is famed for their delicious breakfast, lunch and brunch. If you love breakfast food, then this is a great place for you, as they're known for their breakfast fare, such as French toast, pancakes, omelets, sweets, coffee and more. But, if breakfast isn't your thing, the restaurant also offers lunch fare, such as wraps, burgers, sandwiches, fresh salads and more. They also have a cocktail menu, with different offering for different seasons. For the holiday months, the "Drunkin' Santa" is a favorite, offering rum Chata peppermint bark liqueur, coffee and whipped cream.

Hudson Cafe also opened a second location last year in Northville. The cafe's main location is on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit. The restaurant is open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 a.m. Also, if you'd like to host a special event at Hudson Cafe, they can do that. "Our private event space welcomes you through our private entrance, with an enclosed space with four large windows, a gorgeous vintage map of Detroit, dimmable overhead lighting and wall sconces," they state. "The room is equipped with audio and visual capabilities including a separate sound system, projector and click-share presentation." "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives," hosted by Guy Fieri on the Food Network, is one of the most popular shows for food lovers. There's just something super entertaining about Fieri, and the show is so fun to watch. What's extra cool is that Fieri has come to Michigan multiple times and picked local restaurants to highlight on the show.

TVFoodmaps.com has compiled a full directory of all the restaurants that have appeared on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." Think of this as a list of spots every Michigan food lover should visit. Some of these restaurants are familiar to me, like Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger, while others I are not. My parents actually live just a few miles from Zaytoon Mediterranean in Lansing, Michigan, and I had no idea they were featured on the show until now. They do have some great Miditerranean food. Which are your favorite Michigan spots that you think should be featured on the show? Reach out to me on social media and give me some recommendations!

In total, Fieri has highlights 16 different Michigan restaurants on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." What can I say- we have some great eating spots here! View the full list of Michigan restaurants featured on the show below, and make sure to visit them at some point. View the full list here.
