Michigan Town Named the Best for Christmas By NBC’s Today Show
Michigan has some gorgeous areas to celebrate Christmas, and NBC’s “TODAY Show” is taking notice. The popular television program has released a list of the 25 best Christmas towns in the U.S., and one Michigan town made the cut.
“It’s (almost) the most wonderful time of the year!” they state in the article on TODAY.com. “With the holiday season fast approaching, you may be looking for extra magical places to travel to. From California to Connecticut and everywhere in between, TODAY has compiled a list of 25 Christmas towns to put on your travel list this holiday season.”
While Michigan has one city on the list, many Midwest cities were left off, which kind of surprises us. They do highlight Santa Claus, Indiana, stating, “For another year-round holiday treat, head to Indiana’s Santa Claus, which calls itself ‘America’s Christmas Hometown.’ In this town, Santa’s elves send replies to children’s letters, and holiday celebrations include parades, a light show and a candy castle.”
So, which Michigan city made the cut? Ann Arbor. In the article, they state, “The home of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor is a quaint town with tons of holiday-themed events, from German food markets to live music to a carol sing-along. Plus, the town has the potential to be a winter wonderland just in time for Christmas.” I think Ann Arbor is a great pick, but I also think Frankenmuth is a fantastic Christmas city. I mean, it has the world’s biggest Christmas store. I’m surprised it’s not on this list. There are a lot of other great spots on this tally, too.
