Michigan News Anchor Says Goodbye After 20 Years
When someone has been a local TV anchor for many years, they become part of the community. That person may even feel like family, since you’ve seen them on TV every day for so long.
Now, a popular Michigan TV anchor is saying farewell after almost 20 years in front of the camera.
That longtime anchor is Lauren Thompson, who has been a fixture on WLNS in Lansing. According to the TV station, Thompson started her career at WLNS almost 20 years ago in July of 2003, and she has been with the station ever since. It’s rare for someone to be with one station for so long in the fickle TV business, so that makes her run even more special.
“Lauren has accomplished many things during her time at WLNS, including giving a voice to those who didn’t have one, and even getting to travel with former Vice President Mike Pence on his bus tour through Michigan,” WLNS.com states. “She has been an incredible role model to those who have worked at WLNS and we will miss her every day.”
