Detroit Lions Fall to Ravens: Team Looks to Regroup For Monday Night Against Raiders
In Week 7 of the NFL season, the Lions held the best record in the NFC, but were humbled by the Ravens who defeated the Lions 38-6 at M & T bank Stadium. The Detroit Lions trailed 28-0 at halftime, the largest halftime deficit in NFL history among teams with the best record this late in the season. The loss ended the Lions four game winning streak (all of which were by at least 14 points) gave them their second loss of the season as well as their their first road loss of the season after going 3-0 away from Ford Field. The Lions’ failure to contain Lamar Jackson was the story of their defeat. The Ravens quarterback was 21 of 27 passing. He threw for 357 yards and recorded four total touchdowns (three passing, one rushing). The Lions defense had zero sacks and hit Jackson only once throughout the entire game.
After the Loss Lions head coach Dan Campbell said. “They kicked our ass. Nobody likes to look over there and watch them having a great time because they kicked our ass. Nobody thinks that’s fun, but I know that motivates me for next week, it motivates our team. You’ll do any and everything you can not to have that feeling again. That’s all I mean by that.” Campbell said he knew adversity was going to hit this team at some point in the season and when it did his only concern was how would the team respond. Campbell will get his answer Monday night (Oct 30th) as the Lions take on the Las Vegas Raiders at Ford Field.
