The Woodward Dream Cruise Guide: Things You Should Know
Alright Detroit, its that time again! The Woodward Dream Cruise is back and here is some information you need to know for those of you who plan on attending. For car enthusiasts, Woodward Avenue is known as the “Main Street of America.” The event takes place there every year. Although road construction has been taking place in the area during the summer, the Dream Cruise will not be affected by traffic on Woodward.
The Woodward Dream Cruise is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 18-19 from 9 am to 9 pm. Drivers will begin in Ferndale and proceed to Pontiac. The event is free of charge for drivers and spectators, however non-classic car drivers are asked to avoid the two right lanes closest to the curb. As far as parking is concerned, please plan ahead and get there early as space will fill up fast. This is an all day event and parking will get scarce as the event gets later in the day. Most areas between Ferndale and Pontiac will offer free parking, but again spots will fill up quickly.
In addition, there will also be many city-specific events along the route for residents to attend. As the dream cruise gets underway on Friday, there will be many events to look forward to. Please be safe Detroit and enjoy your time down at the Woodward Dream Cruise.
