College is great for some people, but it’s not for everyone. I personally enjoyed going to a four-year college and learned a lot, but there are plenty of non-college training options that enable students to make an incredible salary upon graduation.
The crew at Indeed.com has put together a list of 50 high-paying Michigan jobs that you can get without a bachelor’s degree. They note that, “there are a variety of jobs in Michigan for those interested in finding a career right after high school,” adding that, “these roles tend to be in the trade sectors where employees can learn from more experienced team members understanding what types of positions offer on-the-job training and immediate employment can help you accelerate your career.”
The tally is based on the most up-to-date Indeed salary information. Going through this list, a few of these ideas raise an eyebrow, such as “professional blogger.” I know plenty of bloggers who don’t make anywhere near $86,000, but it’s apparently a lucrative business for those with a large following and web traffic. Other jobs include nuclear power reactor operator, solar sales consultant and real estate broker, all of which, according to the study, make near $100,000 per year. One exciting-sounding job on the tally is a criminal investigator, who makes more than $100,000 per year, according to Indeed, and “collects evidence to help solve cases.” Sounds like a fun job to me!
The Indeed study breaks down the 15 highest-paying jobs without a four-year degree and then goes on to list 19 additional high-paying jobs that don’t requite a degree and 16 high-paying jobs that just require a certificate. Read on for the full list, and find more information via Indeed here.
