Fila and Grant Hill Unveil New Basketball Court In Detroit
Hall of Fame forward and former Detroit Piston Grant Hill, teamed up with his long time brand partners at Fila, Detroit Parks, Recreation Division, and the Chandler Park Conservancy to bring two new Grant Hill inspired basketball courts on the Eastside of Detroit. The courts were built from the ground up and come complete with new surfaces an even new backboard’s. The design on the courts is a familiar look to many Piston fans because it pays homage to Hill’s time here in Detroit as a Piston. The court is painted the iconic teal, yellow, and red with 33 on the court, which is the number he wore here in Detroit and throughout his time in the league.
Grant Hill released a statement saying, “I spent much of my professional career in Detroit and have great pride in this city, with lasting memories of my playing days here and the reception I’ve received ever since. I am excited to show my appreciation to the community, while offering these kids an opportunity to get outdoors and help put them on the path to a bright future.”
To celebrate the opening of the new Grant Hill inspired courts, Chandler Park Conservancy is hosting a youth 3-on-3 basketball tournament this Sunday, September 26. All who plan on participating in the tournament, must show proof of a negative COVID test or must show proof of vaccination 48 hours prior to the event.
Detroit, come out, bring your kids, celebrate and experience the unveiling of the new Grant Hill courts and play some 3-on-3 basketball this Sunday.
