Will Detroit Forgive Gov. Whitmer?
A photo of Gov. Whitmer surfaced online over the weekend of her with about a dozen other people sitting at a restaurant in Lansing, violating her own COVID-19 orders.
According to the department of Health and Human Services, no more than six people are allowed to be seated together at a restaurant and they must be six feet away from others. On Sunday, after the video was posted online, Gov Whitmer issued an apology stating that, “Throughout the pandemic, I’ve been committed to following public health protocols,” Whitmer said Sunday in a statement. “Yesterday, I went with friends to a local restaurant. As more people arrived, the tables were pushed together. Because we were all vaccinated, we didn’t stop to think about it. “In retrospect, I should have thought about it. I am human. I made a mistake, and I apologize.” Detroit, do you forgive Gov. Whitmer?
