Michigan Haunted House Tops New List of Best in America
If you love getting your haunt on, Michigan has one of the best and scariest haunted houses in America. Halloween is a super popular holiday, and it seems as if we’re celebrating earlier and earlier every year. I’m not mad about it. I love Halloween but also love summer, so it’s a bittersweet thing for me.

The experts at Parade.com have put together a tally of the best Halloween attractions in the country. “It might be summer, but it’s never too early to get excited for some haunts and thrills when fall comes around,” they state. “Going to a haunted house—whether you go on Halloween night or in the days leading up to October 31—is a classic Halloween tradition, especially among teens and young adults.”
Looking at some of the biggest spots in the major meccas of America, Blood Manor in New York City is one to watch. The “massive 5,000-square-foot haunted attraction” features a bunch of themed rooms that are guaranteed to scare you silly. In California, a state known for their Hollywood scares, Reign of Terror Haunted House in Thousand Oaks is a top pick. This attraction features more than 100 rooms. “So when you’re done with one room, you’ll be immediately transported to another haunted adventure,” which makes it extra scary.
So, which Michigan spot is one of the best scary attractions in America? It should come as zero surprise that it’s Erebus Haunted House in Pontiac. Every year, this haunted house tops the list of the very best haunted attractions in America. It’s so cool that we have Erebus right in our backyard. “The story behind Erebus Haunted House in Pontiac makes guests come back for more nightmare fuel,” Parade.com states. “Dr. J. Colbert built the world’s first working time machine in the area, but it malfunctioned and instead attacked those who tried to use it.” Erebus is a four-story haunted house in downtown Pontiac that offers real Hollywood special events right here in Michigan. They been around for years, “serving terrifying thrills, unforgettable moments of laughter, and blood-curdling screams.” To date, more than 10,000 people have been through Erebus Haunted House’s doors. Will you be next? It’s along a very meaty haunted house, with more than a half-mile indoor walk through the haunted rooms. Erebus opens in mid-September, and I’m excited to see what it’s like this year.
