I just published the 2024 NFL Draft Podcast Special for my show, “The Squad with Anne Erickson.” My guest for the show is Benjamin Raven, who covers the Detroit Lions for MLive. It was great talking with him about the hottest and most in-demand players in this year’s draft. The top pick in the NFL Draft will likely be Caleb Williams, the quarterback from USC. In my recent story on the top five NFL Draft picks, I note that Williams has all the pieces to become a winning, long-term franchise quarterback. Raven agrees and puts Williams ahead of the other star quarterbacks up for grabs this season. In the NFL Draft Preview episode, Raven discusses why Williams already has the skills and abilities to be a franchise quarterback without having to get his feet wet as a backup quarterback in the NFL. We also discuss Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy, who is the youngest quarterback in the draft, and where he might end up. Here’s a hint: He could be the next Kirk Cousins. Listen to the NFL Draft Preview episode of “The Squad with Anne Erickson below.” Reach out to me with your thoughts, too.
