With summer officially behind us, Fifty Grande released a list of the best new 2023 hotels that opened this season. A Michigan resort was named on the list.
The report points out how this time of year is lovely for travel. The rates are in a down period, post-summer and pre-holiday rush. “To inspire your exploration, some insanely cool new properties opened this summer across the country,” Fifty Grande states.
Though some of the hotels listed here are ideal for warmer climates, they offer plenty of entertaining options in all seasons. Or perhaps you are already exploring summer plans for 2024. Regardless, these best new hotels are scattered across the country from the northeast to Pacific shores in San Diego. Their common theme is that each has a boutique charm to them. Cambria Detroit
It’s hard to find anything wrong with a hotel with a taco restaurant on the first floor. “When you visit our hotel, you’ll be able to experience the brilliance of Detroit,” Cambria Downtown Detroit states. Located at 600 W. Lafayette Blvd, the Cambria Hotel used to be the WWJ radio station. There are 154 rooms on the property.
Inside, “The lobby and ground-floor entry have been restored to the Art Deco splendor of Detroit’s golden era, and the hallways are filled with historic photographs explaining the building’s important role in Detroit history,” Fifty Grande explains.
Detroit Taco Company is the aforementioned restaurant located off the lobby. They are open for every meal and offer a 24/7 grab-and-go selection. There is also a rooftop bar and lounge at the hotel.
Lastly, you can’t beat the location. It’s within walking distance to many of the city’s main attractions. This includes the riverfront and all three professional sports arenas.
