Pusha T Reveals He’s No Longer President Of G.O.O.D. Music
Pusha T is no longer the president of G.O.O.D. Music, XXL reports in an exclusive interview with the artist published today (Dec. 19). He also revealed he’s not associated with the label at all but still remains a Def Jam artist due to his 50/50 deal regarding his solo music and his own label, Heir Wave Music Group. G.O.O.D. Music was founded by Kanye West in 2004. Pusha T was made president of the label in 2015.
Later in the interview, the It’s Almost Dry rapper weighed in on his current relationship with Ye.
“He’s not speaking to me now,” Push began. “If you ain’t with it, you ain’t down. And I ain’t with it. I’m not budging on that. I’m not with it. I heard about this new stuff [on InfoWars]. I don’t know. It’s something that just sort of tells me he’s not well, at the same time. I will say that. It’s going to places where it’s no way to move around it.”
When asked when was the last time they spoke he said it was during his It’s Almost Dry Tour which wrapped in June.
“I just expressed myself,” he said. “I express myself to him a lot. He expressed his thoughts to me. And he got off the phone saying, ‘Thank you. I know you don’t agree with me, but you never kill me in the public. And some people can’t wait to do that.'”
He added, “We started working together in 2010. So, my relationship with him has never been like everybody else’s in regard to the filter. I never had a filter with him. I’ve always spoke my mind. People gotta remember, too. This isn’t new for me when it comes to disagreeing with him politically and things like that.”
In regards to their dynamic, the rapper added, “You know what I will say about that? He knows I will do everything I gotta do and wanna do,” the “Diet Coke” emcee explained. “In regard to anything that jeopardizes my look, my pride, anything. He knows that. He knows there’s no talking me off any ledges. He just can’t do it. With him knowing that. I got too much pride to ask somebody to not move a certain way. I don’t do it. But I’m going to react as Coo Coo Cal as I f—ing want to when I feel like something is not going in my favor. It is what it is, man.”
