Ye once again references Pete Davidson who is dating his estranged wife Kim Kardashian: “This afternoon, a hundred goons pullin’ up to SNL/When I pull up, it’s dead on arrival.” He previously referenced the SNL star on Eazy with The Game: “God saved me from that crash, just so I could beat Pete Davidson’s a–.”

Alicia sings the chorus with the opening lines “New York City, please go easy on me tonight/New York City, please go easy on this heart of mine” which is credited from the 2015 hit “New York City” by The Chainsmokers who serve as co-producers on the track. The other producers of the single are AyoAA, Hermz, Kanye West, Mav Beats, Oji Volta, and Tweek Tune.
