There are plans for the construction of a 14-story hotel in the growing District Detroit neighborhood, right next to Little Caesars Arena. Olympia Development and Ilitch Holdings have proposed to build a 14-story hotel with 290 rooms along Woodward Avenue next to the arena. The plan would take approximately 36 months and would began in 2024. Keith Bradford, President of Olympia Development of Michigan and The District Detroit released statement saying “The hotel, food and beverage and other amenities proposed will create a wide variety of good jobs and attract people from the region, state and beyond to The District Detroit. We’re excited about the immense opportunity this new development, along with the Detroit Center for Innovation and new housing under development such as The Residences@150 Bagley and the Henry Street project, represents for continuing our progress on this unique live, work and play destination.”
As part of Olympia’s plan to develop the District Detroit area, the latest proposal adds more commercial development along Columbia Street, a residential corridor along Park Avenue, and new parks. This would more then likely bring more people to the downtown area for sporting events, concerts and other popular events taking place near Little Caesars Arena.
