Spirit Airline In Hot Water!
Passengers are very displeased with Spirit airlines after multiple cancellations and delays that have kept them from getting to their destination on time. According to CNBC, carriers have been struggling to recover from thunderstorm disruption that swept through the Dallas/Fort Worth International hub. More than 270 flights have been canceled as of Tuesday morning, according to FlightAware.com. There were about 850 American flights between Sunday and Monday, when thunderstorms first occurred that were cancelled and around 2,000 were delayed.
Many travelers were upset about not being able to reach customer service agents as well as waiting hours in line for refunds and other customer service help at airports. Some travelers were left stranded and even had to camp out at the airport until a flight was available. A passenger by the name of Rebecca Osborn said on her Twitter account that, “It looked like a hurricane shelter.”
A spokesman for Spirit Airlines Erik Hofmeyer stated, “We’re working around the clock to get back on track in the wake of some travel disruptions over the weekend due to a series of weather and operational challenges, we needed to make proactive cancellations to some flights across the network, but the majority of flights are still scheduled as planned.” If you are traveling Spirit Airlines, please be patent as they are doing their best to get things back in order.
