Kwame Kilpatrick Getting Married!
Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is tying the knot again. According to Deadline Detroit, Kilpatrick and his fiancé Laticia Maria McGee, are expected to get married this Saturday at the city’s Historic Little Rock Baptist Church. Kilpatrick told Deadline Detroit back in June that he planned on remarrying as well as began to study ministry.
Kilpatrick met McGee when she started working as a receptionist in the mayor’s office while he was in Detroit. Kilpatrick said that he connected with her as a friend first, then they began praying together on the phone before he eventually was sent to prison, where she would sometimes make conjugal visits. Kilpatrick told Deadline Detroit, “I learned you can actually build a relationship by being truthful and honest. She was great at forcing me to be myself.”

During his visit to Detroit last month, Kilpatrick stopped by Little Rock Baptist Church where he was greeted by many of his peers and admirers from the city of Detroit, some of whom even chanted out “Kwame!” and “We love you ,Kwame!” Detroit help us congratulate our former mayor and his new wife to be.
