Congratulations Anavia Battle!
Congratulations to Inkster native and Ohio State sprinter Anavia Battle for making this years US Olympic team. During Saturday evenings Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon, Battle finished third in the 200 meter dash behind Gabby Thomas and Jenna Prandini. She finished with a record breaking time of 21.95 beating her previous record of 22.28 seconds.
Battle participated in this past seasons Big Ten outdoor champions and ran in both the 100 and 200 meter dash. She also ran a leg on the championship winning Big Ten 4×400 meter relay team.
Battle is now one of three Ohio State Buckeyes to be competing in this years Tokyo Olympics. Detroit, help us congratulate Anavia Battle and cheer her on at this years Olympics as she tries to bring home the gold.
