Report: Matthew Stafford and the Lions Looking to Part Ways
It appears Matthew Stafford’s time with the Lions is coming to a close.
The longtime Lions quarterback is not expected to return to the team this offseason, league sources have told ESPN. The arrangement, ESPN reports, has been discussed by both sides and mutually agreed upon.
The Lions are expected to start trade discussions soon, which will likely bring a new quarterback to the team, based on who the Lions will get in a trade for Stafford, ESPN reports.
Stafford has spent his full career in Detroit, totaling a dozen years. He has completed 45,109 passing yards and 282 touchdown passes during that time.
