In honor, here are a few easy tequila recipes. I had to add one with ice cream, because…ice cream!
Also, what kind of margarita are YOU? Take our quiz here!
Tequila Oasis (via the Food Network):
Shake 3 ounces pineapple juice, 1 1/2 ounces tequila, 3/4 ounce lime juice and 1/2 ounce triple sec in a shaker with ice. Strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with a lime twist.
Tommy’s Margarita (via Thrillist):
Combine 2 ounces tequila, 1 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice (don’t use bottled, just squeeze a lime, it’s not hard) and ½ ounce agave syrup or other sweetener in a shaker over ice. Shake to chill. Strain over fresh ice.
7UP Sunrise (via 7UP):
Combine 1-1/2 oz. tequila, 4-1/2 oz. 7UP® Cherry, splash of Rose’s® Grenadine and splash of orange juice. Mix and pour over ice. Use a lime twist for garnish.
The Paloma (via thespruceeats.com):
Take your favorite tequila, add a bit of lime juice and top it off with grapefruit soda. That’s it!
Margarita Ice Cream (via the Food Network):
Ingredients:
1/2 cup lime juice
2 tablespoons tequila
3 tablespoons orange liqueur (recommended: Cointreau or Triple Sec)
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
2 cups heavy cream
Directions:
Combine the lime juice, tequila and orange liqueur in a bowl and stir in the sugar to dissolve. Next, add the cream and softly whip until thick and smooth, but it should be stiff. Store in an airtight container to freeze overnight. Enjoy the next day!
