DMX’s voice really adds to the grit of the track and gives us that unique rough rider stylings only he could bring. Featuring his great friend Swizz Beatz and French Montana the songs titled “Been to War”. This song sets the tone for the second season of the show, which follows a gangster named Bumpy Johnson. Set in the 1960s, showing the real true-crime rise to power within the streets of Harlem, New York. You can watch season 2 right now streaming on Epix and where you’ll hear the title featured.
With the passing of DMX at the age of 50 on April 9th, this is making the song even more powerful. Swizz Beatz has worked with him since he first began and wholeheartedly has been grieving his loss of a great friend and talent.
“I’m truly beyond devastated !!!!!! But I’m so happy my brother is no longer in pain . I watched him take everyone’s pain and make it his own.”
