Kanye West Won’t Face Charges For Phone Snatching Incident

Kanye West will not be facing charges following the snatching and tossing of a woman’s phone back in January. She was reportedly paparazzi. According to gossip site TMZ, the Donda rapper is no longer a suspect and will not face legal implications following the incident.

Ventura County District Attorney’s Office documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday (March 15), “revealed the phone suffered minor damage and only affected the $30 case around the device.” It also stated that she declined to press charges against Kanye.

Back in January, the woman followed him as he left his daughter North’s basketball game. Kanye was seen snatching and tossing the phone into the street. The incident was caught on camera by a bystander.

“You didn’t have to run up on me like that,” Ye said as the woman filmed from inside her vehicle.

“I wasn’t running. I wasn’t running – but Kanye you’re a celebrity,” the woman replied.

“If I say stop, stop with your cameras!” Kanye responded.

Three days prior to the incident where Ye was seen out with his new wife, Yeezy architect Bianca Censori, he explained that paparazzi were the reason he started taking medication.

“No, you got the shot, but I’m saying…You don’t even know! You just jump up on people like this,” Ye explained to the papparazzi.

“Do you know the first time I ever took medication, why it was? Because I got mad at paparazzi,” he explained. “You know which paparazzi it was? The same one that shot Britney [Spears]. My dad did photography for newspapers. It has to be some kind of balance, some kind of conversation.”

He added: “I can’t live in California in my life like I’m some type of caged animal to be judged in front of glass.”

    “The song was always one of my favorites, but I did not think it would fit well into my second album,” the singer said per Genius. The record draws from Eddie Kendrick’s 1977 “Intimate Friends.” “Unbreakable” was nominated for “Best R&B Song” and “Best Female Vocal R&B Vocal Performance” at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards.
