Jennifer Hudson Seemingly Confirms Relationship With Common
Jennifer Hudson and Common are once again fueling romance rumors. Hudson was asked on CBS Mornings last week with Gayle King, if the singer was “very happy.”
“I am very happy,” Jennifer confirmed.
King then added, “Very nice relationship” to which Hudson replied, “Yes, ma’am.”
Nate Burleson, King’s co-host on CBS Mornings, asked if the singer was “boo’ed up.”
Hudson joked back, saying that it’s “more sophisticated” than “boo’ed up.”
“It’s definitely not an entanglement. That’s for sure,” she added.
According to People, Hudson and Common were seen leaving Nobu hand-in-hand last weekend.
This “confirmation” follows when Hudson addressed relationship rumors back in August. TMZ caught up with the actress, and they asked her if she was dating the rapper.
“Rumors say a lot of things,” Hudson told the outlet on Tuesday (Aug. 1). “But he’s a beautiful man, I will give you that.”
Last year she spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the rumors. She summed it up to basically just catching a bite to eat after filming: “We shot a film together, and he played my husband. We gotta eat in between those moments.”
Hudson is referring to the thriller Breathe, where she and Common played husband and wife. The film also stars Sam Worthington and Milla Jovovich.
Common and Jennifer Hudson’s Past Romantic Lives
In their romantic lives, Hudson has been married twice and has one kid, a 14-year-old son, David Daniel Otunga Jr. The EGOT winner was married to James Payton (1999–2007) and David Otunga (2007–2017).
As for Common, he has been linked to Erykah Badu, Taraji P. Henson, Serena Williams, and more in the past. His most recent relationship was with actress Tiffany Haddish. The two began dating in 2020 and ended their relationship in November 2021. The comedian has been open about her split from Common. She says that the actor broke up with her over the phone.
“It was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course,'” Haddish told The Washington Post. “And I was like, ‘OK. Like, you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. OK?'”
Common broke his silence on their split a month after the breakup. “It probably was the most mature relationship I have been in… meaning the communication, the respect, just all around, man,” he told Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee: Uncensored. “Even from the standpoint of dealing with the pandemic and being around each other, and communicating, and knowing how to navigate that.”
