Lions Improve To 5-1
The red hot Detroit Lions continue their winning streak yesterday by beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-6. In the face of the Buccaneers’ onslaught, Jared Goff remained composed. Lions quarterback Jared Goff threw for 353 yards and added two touchdowns. In this game, Goff showed just how far he has come as a Lion. After an overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the streaking Lions won their fourth straight game to start 5-1 for the first time since 2011.
The Detroit Lions defense was outstanding against the Bucs. Detroit’s defense intercepted Baker Mayfield once, limited the Bucs to 251 yards of offensive production, and forced Tampa Bay to settle for field goals of 33 and 36 yards on its two possessions that ended in Detroit’s red zone. Once again, the Lions run defense looked elite. They stopped Bus running back Rachaad White from gaining more than 30 yards on the ground. Even with the talented tandem of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, the Buccaneers struggled get the ball in their hands.
The Lions will have another tough opponent next week as the take on the Baltimore ravens who are 4-2 and are in first place in the AFC North.
