Taylor Swift Calls Beyoncé Her ‘Guiding Light’ At ‘Eras’ Premiere
Taylor Swift had the support of another major musical superstar at the world premiere of her Eras Tour concert film — Beyoncé. Bey showed up at the Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday (October 11), posing with Swift, 33, on the red carpet. The “THIQUE” singer ever joined her inside The Grove’s theater for a cute popcorn-assisted photo op. Shortly after, Swift took to Instagram to share the global musicians’ moment. Posting a boomerang for her 274 million followers, Swift thanked her fellow artist for the impact she’s had on the music industry.
“I’m so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without @beyonce‘s influence,” she captioned the post. “The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility. She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was like an actual fairytale. As we previously reported, the highly-anticipated concert film from director Sam Wrench is a nearly three-hour theatrical take on Swift’s blockbuster tour. The film is distributed by AMC Theatres and Cinemark. Last week, the theaters reported to have amassed over $100 million in pre-sale tickets worldwide. Later this year, Beyoncé is launching her own concert film celebrating her massively successful Renaissance Tour. “The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free, and no one is judged,” Beyoncé said in the film’s recently released trailer. “Start over, start fresh. Create the new. That’s what the Renaissance is about.”
According to the official synopsis, “It is about Beyonce’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft. Received with extraordinary acclaim, Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour created a sanctuary for freedom, and shared joy, for more than 2.7 million fans.”
Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé opens on December 1. Tickets are now available. Swift’s concert film premieres nationally on Friday, October 13.
