Takeoff’s Alleged Killer Indicted For Murder
Takeoff’s murder case finally has an update. According to local news outlet KHOU, Takeoff’s alleged killer, Patrick Xavier Clark, has just been formally charged with murder in the Migos rapper’s shooting death. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office informed the outlet of the indictment.
Clark was arrested for murder in connection with TakeOff’s death in December 2022. He was arrested during a traffic stop by the HPD Gang Division on Dec. 1, the outlet reported. He had a gun on him at the time, but it was not the one used in the murder of TakeOff.
Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston in the early hours of Nov. 1 following a private party at the 810 Billiards. Quavo, Takeoff’s uncle and groupmate was on the scene, but was unhurt. Takeoff was shot in the head and torso, according to the coroner’s report, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Takeoff was not armed, and he was an innocent bystander when he was hit by gunfire.

Prior to this update, the last publicized knowledge of the case was Clark being released on a $1M bond back in January. His bail was originally set at $2 million but was later reduced to $1 million. Clark’s attorneys argued that the original bond amount was excessive and went against the Texas Constitution, the local news outlet reports. They also argued that Clark’s family couldn’t afford the $2 million bond. Texas Constitution mandates that all prisoners shall be provided sufficient but not excessive bail.
In a three-page tribute, Qauvo said in part that his nephew had a “real passion” for music and that he was the one that created the triplet flow, which we know as the Migos signature sound. “I am proud to be ya uncle. I’m proud we saw the world and done things we couldn’t ever imagine together,” Quavo wrote.
Quavo also released songs “Without You,” and “Honey Bun,” in honor of Takeoff.
