Chris Brown Loses Grammy To Robert Glasper: ‘Who Da F— Is That?’
Chris Brown vented his frustrations over losing a Grammy in the Best R&B Album category by calling out the winner Robert Glasper. In a since-deleted Instagram Story post, per The Shade Room, Brown uploaded a photo of Glasper and asked, “Y’all playing. Who da f— is this?” with a series of crying-laughing emojis. The Breezy singer didn’t stop and continued to taunt the winner. “Who the f— is Robert Glasper,” he wrote. “I’ma keep kicking y’all a– respectfully.”
He concluded, “I gotta get my skills up…Ima start playing the harmonica.” The second post was a Photoshopped image of Brown playing the harmonica, quipping, “New Level Unlocked! Harmonica Breezy.”
Brown and Glasper were nominated alongside Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous, Lucky Daye’s Candy Drip, and PJ Morton’s Watch The Sun.
The “No Guidance” singer was nominated for his 10th studio album titled Breezy. It featured Lil Durk, Capella Grey, Fivio Foreign, Anderson .Paak, Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, Bleu, Wizkid, H.E.R., Bryson Tiller, Ella Mai, EST Gee, Jack Harlow, Blxst, and Tory Lanez. The deluxe version of the LP included appearances from Anderson .Paak and Davido.
Glasper who trumped the competition Sunday (Feb. 5) won for his album Black Radio III which featured H.E.R., Jennifer Hudson, Common, Q-Tip, Ty Dolla $ign, D Smoke, and more.
Other R&B award winners of the night included Muni Long’s “HRS & HRS” for Best R&B Performance, Steve Lacy for Best Progressive R&B Album for Gemini Rights, and Beyoncé who won Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Plastic Off The Sofa” and Best R&B Song for “Cuff It.” Beyoncé won Grammys last night including her 32nd trophy overall for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for her album, Renaissance. She is now the most-awarded artist in Grammys history.
