Get Ready For A Snowy Weekend.
We started the month without any snow, but mother nature has decided to give us the winter we’re supposed to have this time of year. As a result of Wednesday’s snowstorm, there will continue to be snow in the weekend forecast. As expected, most of us woke up to icy conditions and temperatures in the 20s on Friday morning. Temperatures will reach 35 degrees this afternoon, but a strong wind will make it feel like half that, so be sure to bundle up.
The weekend will start mostly cloudy before turning snowy in the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the lower 30s, but it will feel like mid-20s to low 30s. In general, we will receive 1-3 inches of snow this Saturday afternoon, though some spots further north might receive even more (perhaps as high as 2-4 inches depending on where the “bullseye” forms).
With high temperatures reaching 32°, we’ll have to shovel accumulating snow through Sunday morning before it ends around 10:00 AM. It is predicted that along the I-69 corridor we will get 3 to 5 inches of snow, while north of I-94 we will get 2 to 4 inches of snow. As milder air moves in that zone, snow ratios will decrease and rain may mix in at times. Areas along and south of I-94 may receive 2 inches or below.
Sunday’s precipitation will taper off as the system moves east, but next week will bring some of the coldest temperatures of the year. The highs Monday through at least Wednesday will be in the low 20s, or perhaps even the high teens.
