Mac Miller’s Drug Dealer Has Been Sentenced To 17.5 Years In Prison
Stephen Walter, one of the men who sold rapper Mac Miller pills that caused his fatal overdose in 2018, has been sentenced to 17 and a half years in prison. Last year, Walter pled guilty to the distribution of fentanyl. According to the court records, the pills were given to Miller just two days before he passed away on September 7, 2018. After Miller’s death in 2018, Walter continued to sell the counterfeit oxycodone pills that were laced with fentanyl and previously made a plea deal for 17 years. However, US District Judge Otis D. Wright, II rejected the deal, per Rolling Stone.
“The court has elected not to accept that plea agreement,” he said. “So, sir, if you want, at this point, you can withdraw your guilty plea and go to trial. I may as well lay it out. When you continue to engage in this activity even after your activities killed someone, I’m having a tough time not staying within the guidelines.”
Walter accepted the sentence but told the court that he believed Cameron Pettit, who he initially sold the pills to and was also charged in the case wanted them for personal use and claims he did not know Pettit ended up giving them to Miller. Pettit, who also pled guilty last year to the fentanyl distribution charges, accepted a plea agreement as well, but the record has been sealed.
Ryan Reavis, another man who was also convicted in the case was recently sentenced to 11 years in prison.
