Mavs Fan Allegedly Assaults’ Chris Paul’s Family During Mavs Vs Suns Game
After a season of limited-no fans in the 2021 NBA season, fans were allowed to fully return to the areas, but they seem a bit more rowdy. This season, there has been multiple reports and video footage of player and fan interaction on social media and last night was no difference. During Game 4 of the Conference Semi-Finals, Chris Paul’s wife, mom, and children were harassed and physically assaulted by a Mavs fan. According to a report by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Paul’s mother, Robin, got ‘hands put on her by Dallas fans’ during the game. Paul’s wife, Jada, was also allegedly shoved in the incident, which took place in front of their two children and made them feel “very unsafe.” When she left, Jada was reportedly followed up the arena steps by fans. Specifics surrounding the situation are still unknown. During the game, Paul was heard saying that someone “put their hands on my mother” to security.

Another fan at the game took a video after the altercation took place. Security is seen escorting a fan out of the stadium along with a women who looks like she could be his mother. After the game Chris Paul was extremely upset so much so that he tweeted, “Wanna fine players for saying stuff to the fans but the fans can put they hands on our families….f*** that!!” In the fan recorded video, Paul is also seen trying to go after the fan screaming “I’ll see you later.”

A few weeks ago Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets was fined after giving Boston Celtics fans the middle fingers from behind his head after fans were heckling him during the games in Boston. Irving was eventually fined $50,000 by the NBA. When asked how he felt about the fans and what was said to him, Irving replied, “When people start yelling ‘p—y’ or ‘b—-‘ and ‘f— you’ and all this stuff, there’s only but so much you take as a competitor, We’re the ones expected to be docile and be humble, take a humble approach, f— that, it’s the playoffs. This is what it is.”
As of now, there are no charges being brought against the fan and he league has not stated whether they will ban them or not.
