Eminem Will Be Inducted To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
A Detroit native and one of Hip-Hops most legendary rappers will be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Eminem has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. A total of 17 artists were nominated for the Hall of Fame, and Eminem received the second-most votes out of the 17 artists. According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Eminem had 684,237 fan votes, second only to Duran Duran with 934,880.
In addition to being one of the most celebrated rap artists to ever pick up a microphone, he is known for his complex rhyme schemes, skillful wordplay and hilarious, cutting and often controversial subject matter, as well as being one of the most decorated rapper of all time. Besides being a 15-time Grammy winner, he has had 10 No. 1 albums (11 if you count the soundtrack to his semi-biopic “8 Mile,”), five No. 1 singles, and his 2005 compilation “Curtain Call: The Hits” has spent more than 11 years on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart.
According to the Recording Institute Association of America, Eminem has sold more than 61.5 million albums and 166 million singles, making him one of the top 20 best-selling artists in music history. In the 2000s, he was the top-selling artist, and in the 2010s, he was the third best-selling artist, and he’s currently ranked 15th on Spotify with 52 million monthly listeners.
