Kelly Price Says She ‘Flatlined’ During COVID Hospitalization
Gospel singer Kelly Price is finally opening up about her whereabouts over the past weekend after leaving the hospital after battling COVID-19.
Family members reported that the singer was missing to the National Crime Information Center, per TMZ , after not knowing Price’s whereabouts after her hospitalization. Price also reveals that during her time in the hospital she was on her death bed and doctors had to bring her back to life.
Price now denies that she had never gone missing, despite family members insisting that she did. Price told the outlet that she isolated herself as she recovered from COVID and “was avoiding family members who she says she doesn’t routinely stay in touch with.”
The gospel singer also revealed that she nearly “flatlined” during hospitalization per Yahoo.
“At some point, they lost me. I woke up a couple of days and the first thing I remember was the doctors standing around me asking me if I knew what year it was,” Price recalled of the horrifying moment. The interviewer asked Price to specify what she meant by “they lost me,” to which she replies: “I died.”
Unfortunately, the “Friend of Mine” singer is not out of the woods just yet as during her interview with TMZ she was still on oxygen and at times had a tough time speaking.
“… I am facing a very uphill battle right now,” Price said before bursting into tears. “I suffered a lot of internal damage and so I have a lot of rehabbing to do before I am able to be concert-ready again.”
Price also said that the story of her missing had gotten out of hand and that she hadn’t seen her sister in a very long time even before her being hospitalized.
“I haven’t been in the same room as her since my mother’s funeral. Prior to that we hadn’t seen each other all pandemic long. That’s not new for us. We’ve been strained for a very long time,” she said per Yahoo.
“I was never missing … everyone in my family knew exactly where I was,” Price clarified. “It’s very disappointing that things came to this.”
TMZ spoke with Price’s attorney Monica Ewing who wouldn’t give an answer on whether the gospel singer was vaccinated.
