Google Has A Surprisingly Sweet Super Bowl Commercial
One of the simplest and effective Super Bowl commercials that we’ve seen this year is Google’s “Loretta.”
Released earlier this week on YouTube, the 90-second clip shows a man’s computer screen as he reminisces about “Loretta,” who we presume is his late wife. Using Google assistant, he asks to see photos of he and Loretta, tells Google to remember that she hated his mustache and requests to see photos from their anniversary trip. He even asks to Google to “play our favorite movie,” which was Casablanca. We then see a list of things that he told Google not to forget about her. He concludes by saying, “Remember: I’m the luckiest man in the world.”
Does Google have too much information about you? Maybe. But this was an example of the upside: even if the narrator’s memory fades, Google will remind him of the little things, which are often the most important ones.
