2020 Grammy Tribute to Nipsey Hussle Announced
On Tuesday (Jan. 21), CBS News announced that a 2020 GRAMMY tribute will take place for the late Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle.
The news outlet tweeted, “Don’t miss the all-star #Grammy tribute to Nipsey Hussle,” revealing that Kirk Franklin, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, YG, and more would be performing during the tribute that will take place during “music’s biggest night.”

The all-tribute to Hussle will take place at the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 8 PM ET/ 5 PM PT, and honor the beloved rapper and activist.
Nipsey Hussle is also nominated posthumously for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song (“Racks In The Middle”), and Best Rap/Sung Performance (“Higher”).

“An activist, entrepreneur, and rapper, Nipsey Hussle had a lasting impact on not just his community, but also the culture at-large,” said Ken Ehrlich, Executive Producer of the 2020 GRAMMY Awards.
“There is no denying the influence he had and his legacy will be felt for generations to come. We are honored to bring together this amazing group of artists to celebrate Nipsey’s life and pay tribute to his many contributions to music. It’s sure to be a memorable performance.”

The hip-hop community was swept with grief in March of 2019 when Nipsey Hussle was fatally shot outside of his apparel store The Marathon Clothing in Los Angeles.
Lizzo, Ariana Grande, Tyler, The Creator, Charlie Wilson, Camila Cabello, Run DMC, Rosália, Billie Eilish, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, Aerosmith, Demi Levato, and The Jonas Brothers are also slated to take the stage during the 2020 GRAMMY Awards.
