I can’t think of a more fierce competitor than Serena Williams.
- Tennis superstar Serena Williams have been named Associated Press’ Athlete of the Decade.
- In ten years, Williams has won 12 Grand Slam singles, held the top ranked spot in Women’s Tennis ratings for over three and a half years and at 38 has been in her prime while others are ending their careers.
- Williams has also been a champion for women. She’s a working mom who has voiced healthcare inequality for African-American women after nearly dying during childbirth.
- U.S. Tennis Association’s CEO Stacey Allaster said “Whether it’s health issues; coming back from that, having a child; nearly dying from that, she has endured it all and she is still in championship form.”
