Big Boi To Play Berry Gordy In Bobby DeBarge Biopic
Big Boi is slated to play Motown’s iconic founder, Berry Gordy in an upcoming biopic about Bobby Debarge.
The rapper, who recently performed at the 2019 Super Bowl announced the news via his Instagram account, yesterday.
He shared a photo of a chair with his name on it above Gordy’s, and wrote, “Just finished playing Berry Gordy in the “ Debarge “ movie @swirlfilmsig ???????????? coming Soon !”
Bobby Debarge was the lead vocalist of the R&B group Switch who is known for their hits like “I Call Your Name” and “I Like It”. He was also a part of the singing group Debarge with his siblings.
Debarge died at the age of 39 in 1995 due to complications from AIDS.
The Bobby Debarge Story will premiere on TV One sometime in 2019.
