Dr. Dre Is Rumored To Be Working On A Movie About Marvin Gaye
Dr. Dre is going Motown according to XXL.
They pulled the info from Variety, which shared that he was granted the permission to use his likeness and music for a feature film by Marvin Gaye‘s estate.
According to XXL‘s report, multiple people have tried to bring Gaye’s legacy to the screen but none had the blessing of Marvin’s family. Even big names like Lenny Kravitz and Jamie Foxx have worked toward preserving the story, but nothing has come to fruition.
How does Dr. Dre come into play here? Well, as you know, Hip-Hop uses a lot of samples. Dr. Dre has used Gaye as a sample including “The Formula, and “Take A Rest.”
The film is currently in development according to the report, but we’re unsure of when we will see the fruits of his labor.
