#TBT: Songs You May Have Forgotten – Juvenile’s “Slow Motion”
Do you ever come across songs that you have forgotten (or wish you had)?
Juvenile is always going to be remembered for “Back That Azz Up,” but his underrated hit was always “Slow Motion.”
The song, which featured Soulja Slim, honored the artist with “RIP” all over the video. He was shot and killed in 2003 in New Orleans outside of a duplex that he bought for his mom. The song was released posthumously for Soulja Slim.
The fact that the song seems to be the less popular of the two big hits is the fact that the song “Slow Motion” was actually the only number 1 that Juvenile had on the Billboard 100, and was also the first number 1 for Cash Money Records. With it being a Cash Money project, of course, Birdman and Lil’ Wayne make appearances as Juvenile’s backup squad.
In 2017, The Advocate reports that Juvenile had just been released from prison in June due to unrelated Child Support cases.
