How Long Do Most Couples Date Before Tying the Knot?
If you feel like you’re waiting and waiting for your boo to pop the question, it turns out you may be right on track.
A new study shows that couples are dating for longer than ever before tying the knot. The 4,000 person study comes from the site Bridebook, and found that on average, people date for 17 months before moving in together. They spend 22 months living together before getting engaged and then wait for 20 m0nths before actually tying the knot.
Additionally, couples are waiting until they’re older to get married, too. Roughly 46 years ago, the average bride was about 22. Today, she’s about 30. On average, grooms used to be around 24. Today, they’re almost 33. The experts at Bridebook say that these stats will likely contribute to the divorce rate declining in the future too. Now that’s good news!
