DE Aidan Hutchinson Speaks Out on Lions Coaching Shakeup
Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson has voiced his concerns regarding recent coaching changes as the Lions use the offseason to prepare for the 2025 NFL season. Hutchinson, who missed much of the Lions' 2024 season due to a serious injury, said recent coaching staff departures could impact the team's future. With Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn's exit from the Lions coaching staff, Hutchinson said it is crucial that the Lions retain head coach Dan Campbell for another season. “I don't care who they bring. Obviously, keeping Dan (Campbell) there is what we all want,” Hutchinson said during his interview for an episode of "The Squeeze" podcast. “But coordinators, position coaches, it doesn't matter. As long as we have the right guys in the locker room and those foundation guys on offense and on defense, you can roll anyone in there to call the plays,” he stated. Hutchinson remains focused on recovering from his injury and expresses confidence that he will be ready to start in Week 1 of the Lions' season.Time will tell how the Lions adjust to Johnson and Glenn's departures. John Morton has stepped up to replace Johnson after working as pass game coordinator for the Denver Broncos. Kelvin Sheppard will take on the Lions' defensive side after serving as the team's linebackers coach.
