Detroit Lions’ 2025 Schedule Set with AFC North, NFC East Matchups
The NFL has locked in most of the Lions’ 2025 games. They’ll take on teams from the AFC North and NFC East, with 14 games already set through the NFL’s rotation system.
As division champs, Detroit faces a strict schedule. They’ll play six games in their division and eight against rotating divisions. The final three games pit them against winners from the NFC South, NFC West, and AFC West.
The away games look rough. Detroit will face some of the NFL’s best quarterbacks: Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, Joe Burrow in Cincinnati, Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City, and Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia.
At home, they’ll welcome the Giants, Browns, and Vikings. But these games could get easier or tougher as teams reshape through free agency and draft picks.
The NFL balances games across teams. Their system splits matchups between divisions while keeping a good mix of home and away games between conferences.
Those last three games are especially tough. By winning their division, the Lions drew other division winners – making an already challenging schedule even tougher.
The playoffs might bring games against the Packers, Commanders, or Rams in the division round. But everything depends on how teams finish and where they end up in the standings.
When these games start, Detroit’s defense could look different. Players will leave, and new coaching might change their play.
With long-term scheduling, teams can see future opponents through 2029. This early look lets them plan ahead for what’s coming.
Game times and exact dates will remain secret until the NFL’s big schedule announcement in spring 2025. That’s when we’ll also find out about TV coverage and kickoff times.
