Mustang GTD, Bronco Sasquatch & More – Inside Ford’s Game-Changing 2025 Reveal!
The Ford Motor Company unveiled its automotive innovations for 2025 on Thursday, Jan. 9, during its “Detroit Proud” event. Ford hosted its event one day before the Detroit Auto Show’s Media Day and Charity Preview at Huntington Place on Friday, Jan. 10.
The automaker kicked off the show by debuting the new Ford Maverick. The 2025 lineup for the model expands with the addition of the Maverick Lobo, which joins the Hybrid and Tremor trims.
A new trim for the Bronco Sport, the Sasquatch, features upgraded shocks and shielding on the underbody. Meanwhile, a Bronco Stroppe Special Edition honors the racing Bronco of the 1960s and 1970s.
The Ford Expedition Tremor reimagines the Expedition lineup with a split gate design, making it the ultimate off-road vehicle of its class.
In celebration of the Detroit Lions’ 2024-2025 season, Ford unveiled a Detroit Lions Special Edition Powerboost Hybrid F-150 with the company’s special guest, Lions Quarterback Jared Goff, attending.
The Ford Mustang also received some due attention with the big reveal of the Mustang GTD, a racing edition of Ford’s legendary Mustang. According to a report by WXYZ-TV Detroit, this vehicle is the first car from an American automaker to hit the sub-7-minute lap time at Germany’s Nurburgring.
Ford also previewed its highly anticipated Mustang RTR, which contains a modified EcoBoost engine and some hints of the Dark Horse version of the Mustang.
Ford CEO Jim Farley concluded the event by addressing the Los Angeles wildfires and extending the company’s thoughts to all Ford dealer employees and first responders dealing with the tragedy in California.
