Karmanos Cancer Institute Honors All Cancer Survivors and Recognizes National Cancer Survivors Month in June
This post is sponsored by: Karmanos
The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, cancer centers, and other organizations across the nation recognize June as National Cancer Survivor Month. A cancer survivor is anyone with a history of cancer from the time they were diagnosed through the remainder of their life. June is a time to celebrate and honor the millions of people who have beat cancer and think of those who are currently undergoing treatment.

Cancer Screenings
Cancer is most treatable in its early stages, which is why the Karmanos Cancer Institute recognizes that early detection is an important weapon in the fight against cancer. Many cancers do not display symptoms at their onset, so screening is important to monitor for warning signs. The Karmanos Screening and Prevention Program offers testing for breast, cervical, lung, colorectal, and additional cancer screening sites in Detroit, Farmington Hills, Roseville, Maumee, Ohio and at each of the Karmanos Cancer Network locations throughout McLaren Health Care. In addition, Karmanos offers genetic counseling for patients throughout the network.
