Fivio Foreign released his new single “City of Gods” featuring Kanye West and Alicia Keys Friday (Feb. 11) in honor of his late friend Tahjay “T Dott” Dobson. The track will appear on Fivio’s debut album, B.I.B.L.E., set to be released on March 25 and executive produced by West.
“T Dot. That’s my baby boy,” Fivio Foreign said in a statement per Pitchfork. “I never thought I’d be doing this without you here with me. You supposed to be here with me but you gon always be the Prince in the City of Gods. Your name will forever live through me. Long Live Prince T Dot.”
Ye once again references Pete Davidson who is dating his estranged wife Kim Kardashian: “This afternoon, a hundred goons pullin’ up to SNL/When I pull up, it’s dead on arrival.” He previously referenced the SNL star on Eazy with The Game: “God saved me from that crash, just so I could beat Pete Davidson’s a–.”
Alicia sings the chorus with the opening lines “New York City, please go easy on me tonight/New York City, please go easy on this heart of mine” which is credited from the 2015 hit “New York City” by The Chainsmokers who serve as co-producers on the track. The other producers of the single are AyoAA, Hermz, Kanye West, Mav Beats, Oji Volta, and Tweek Tune.
