Seventeen years ago today, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC died in a tragic car accident in La Ceiba, Honduras. As the rapper of the iconic pop group, Left Eye graced TLC’s records with her quirky and smooth raps.

The Philadelphia native also lent her creativity to TLC by designing the trio’s outfits and contributing to their image, artwork, and music videos. Besides that, she often stood out with her bubbly and eccentric personality and her unapologetic ability to speak her mind.

Below revisit a few tracks where Left Eye shines with her infectious flow, and take a look at her over the years.
