Future Surprises Fans With New Mixtape Announcement
Future fans are getting new music from him soon. The Atlanta native surprised fans with a new mixtape announcement. He is dropping the new project on Friday (May 10) which is seemingly a direct attack at Gunna. The Pluto rapper wrote, “F— yo album S— ain’t slappin like my MIXTAPE,” seemingly referencing Gunna’s One of Wun which is also set to drop on Friday.
He followed up with announcing the release date, “MAY TENTH,” and the project’s potential name, “MIXTAPE PLUTO.”
With the release of this mixtape on Friday, this will be the Atlanta rapper’s third project release of the year. In March, Future released his joint album with Metro Boomin We Don’t Trust You and followed up with the sequel We Still Don’t Trust You in April.
Will Fans Get Answers From Future About Drake On His New Mixtape?
Both albums have been at the beginning stages of the ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. The Compton native had a surprise feature on the song “Like That” from We Don’t Trust You. Fans suspected that a couple of lines off of the title track were aimed at Drake from Future as well.
“Fake written all over you/Hate written all over you,” Future raps in the intro to the title track.
“You a n—- number one fan, dog/Sneak dissin’, I don’t understand, dog/Pillow talkin’, actin’ like a fed, dog/I don’t need another fake friend, dog/Can’t be ’bout a h-, ’cause we sharin’, dog/In you feelings, n—-, why you playin’, dog?” Future raps in the second verse.
Future’s diss is not coming out of thin air, as Drake mentioned an issue with Future involving a woman on For All The Dogs.
“What would Pluto do?/He’d f— a h-/So did it (Yeah, yeah),” Drake rapped on “What Would Pluto Do.”
On We Still Don’t Trust You, Future addresses his feelings about Drake on the chorus of “This Sunday.”
“Feel a way, feel a way/Know a n—- feel a way, feel a way,” he raps repeatedly throughout the chorus interlopping Drake’s 2016 song “Feel No Ways” where Future is credited as a writer on the track.
On Drake’s version, he sings, “And now you’re tryna make me feel a way, on purpose/Now you’re throwing it back in my face, on purpose/Now you’re talking down on my name, on purpose, yeah/And you don’t feel no way, you think I deserve it.”
Drake and Future have worked together several times over the years, most notably including their What A Time To Be Alive joint album in 2015. They most recently worked together on Future’s Grammy-winning album I NEVER LIKED YOU in 2022.
Their feud still seems to be ongoing but fans might get some answers on Future’s mixtape on Friday.
