Party at the Polls

Detroit City Clerk Janice M. Winfrey is inviting the entire community to come out and celebrate democracy — Detroit style. On Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Winfrey will host a Block Party for Democracy at 2978 W. Grand Blvd, between Second and Third, to mark the opening of Detroit’s Early Vote Centers for the August Primary Election.

The celebration will feature DJs spinning music all day, family-friendly activities, local vendors, food trucks, giveaways, and adoptable dogs from the Michigan Humane Society. It’s a perfect mix of civic engagement and summer fun — right in the heart of the city.

“We’re excited about this Block Party and the launch of our Early Vote Centers,” said Clerk Winfrey. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate civic pride, enjoy the vibrant spirit of summer in Detroit, and most importantly — ensure every voter knows their voice matters when it comes to shaping the leadership and future of our city.”

Early Voting gives Detroiters the convenience and flexibility to vote on their schedule — whether early, by absentee ballot, or on Election Day. The Detroit City Clerk’s Office is making it easier than ever for every voice to be heard.
