Saroki's Crispy Chicken & Pizza will open its first Detroit location next Monday inside Griswold Market & Spirits at 735 Griswold in downtown Detroit. Starting May 5, the chicken and pizza chain will dish out fried chicken tenders and New York-style pizza slices from within the market.
"This is a major step forward for our brand, and we're proud to bring Saroki's to the heart of the city for both new and loyal customers," said founder Todd Saroki in a press release, per The Detroit News. "Detroit is one of the most dynamic food cities in the country, and being part of the growth and energy in downtown is incredibly meaningful to us."
The new spot will offer carryout and delivery. Hours run 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday, doors stay open until 11 p.m. Sunday wraps up at 9 p.m.
Brothers Todd and Curtis Saroki launched the chain back in 2012. Now the company operates more than 20 locations across Michigan, with most clustered around metro Detroit.
This downtown location marks the brand's 23rd spot in southeastern Michigan. Franchisees Bahir Mikha and Yousif Kashat own it.
Mikha said the brand has "a proven demand and strong brand recognition." He pointed to growth in the downtown area as a reason for expanding.
"Downtown Detroit continues to grow, with more residents, office workers and visitors looking for convenience they will find at our market in addition to high-quality, fast-casual dining options," Mikha said in a statement.
The location will run from the full-service market at 735 Griswold. Customers can grab the menu for carryout or delivery when doors swing open Monday.
