"My Father's Shadow" is an extraordinary debut from first-time Nigerian director Akinola Davies Jr., co-written with his brother Wale. When young brothers Remi and Akin join their often-absent father on a trip to collect his overdue salary, what unfolds is an intimate and epic journey through memory, masculinity, and a country on the brink of change. Set against the turbulence of 1993 Lagos during a pivotal national election, this deeply personal film features riveting performances from real-life brothers Godwin Chiemerie Egbo and Chibuike Marvelous Egbo.
