Big Sean and Usher launched the Detroit Entertainment Innovation Incubator on Tuesday. The $1 million space sits inside Michigan Central and operates through the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan.

Both artists showed up on Monday's Good Morning America to discuss what's coming. Inside sits a virtual production studio, effects lab, and creators' lounge.

"Here was an opportunity for us to get some economic mobility for young men and women here in Detroit," said Usher according to The Detroit News.

This incubator mirrors one the R&B star built at the Boys & Girls Club in Atlanta. He spotted a way to link the two cities.

Since 2018, Big Sean has given four production studios to Boys & Girls Club locations around town. Working at Michigan Central meant something extra to the Detroit rapper.

"What excited me about this particular project is that I used to ride past this train station that was abandoned every single day," said Big Sean. "It's just exciting to be a part of it, and to see it come to fruition."

Usher's New Look, the Sean Anderson Foundation, Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, and Emory University's Goizueta Business School all pitched in to help make it happen. They announced plans back in December.

"Hopefully, some young entrepreneurs will come out of this incredible venture," said Usher.
